Parts of an ONS webpage Contact details

Overview

Our publications and web pages provide users with contact information for any statistical queries.

Contact field

The contact field appears near the top of the publication page, between the summary and table of contents.

The contact field should provide the name of the team responsible for the statistical output. It should be hyperlinked to the team’s group email address.

It should not name any individual authors who have contributed to the publication. This helps to present our content as a collective organisation: the ONS.

It is also in line with guidance from the Statistical Head of Profession Office and the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR).

Contact details box

On desktop computers, the contact details box appears on the right-hand side of the publication page, next to the Main points section. On mobile devices, it appears at the bottom of the page.

The contact details box should include:

  • the team name from the contact field
  • the team email address
  • a relevant phone number, if applicable

Each of these contact details should appear on a separate line.
