Chart types

This section provides guidance on different chart types we use at the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and how to choose a chart type (opens in a new tab)  that is best suited for the type of data your using, and the trend you want to display.

Each chart type includes an example and specific guidance on when it’s best to use them, and how to use them.

You can also find out more about the design specifications of ONS charts in our Notion chart guidance (opens in a new tab)
